Mohamed Marouane Kamal, born on June 22, 1987, in Marrakech, is a Moroccan actor and filmmaker.

After several years acting in national and international films, he shifted his focus to directing. He earned a degree in editing and later completed a master’s in directing at the Higher School of Visual Arts in Marrakech.

His first short film, Takourte, won the Grand Prize TV5 Monde and the Pascal Abikanlou Grand Prize and was selected for the Câmpulung Film Festival in Romania. He went on to direct another short film, Vu, and a feature-length documentary, Le Gavage, supported by the Moroccan Cinematographic Center.

Le Gavage received multiple awards, including the Nianan d’Or (Grand Prize for Best Feature Documentary) at the AG’NA Festival in Mali and the Youth Award at the Arab-African Documentary Film Festival in Zagora ( Morocco). It was also selected for the Panorama section of the Tangier Film Festival, the official competition at the Indian Panorama International Film Festival, and the Best Feature Documentary category at the London Art House Film Festival.
